I sure hope I can make it. I might have to head up to 034 on Thursday-Friday to get my car checked out since they want to look over the harness for the stand alone and maybe even put it up on the dyno.

I think my biggest issue now is traction the tires today weren't as good as the tires I ran at Infineon a couple weeks back those had much more give in the sidewall it figures who would of know the cheapest cheap-o tires would perform better lol. But this is where I stand i'm in need of a drag tire so Mike when you read this let me know when your gonna start selling those Hoosiers i'm gonna need a set! Until then the car is gonna go into hibernation as I feel there is no use to make anymore runs from here until then.

I still need to test them which I was hoping to do at Sac today but will have to do it on June 13th at the IDRC event in Fontana.
BTW nice 11.2 at 126.

I tihnk you both missed what he was saying. He basically said that he is going to park the car till he can actually get a set of drag radials, which means he doesnt plan on hitting the track again till then. It isn't like he said he was retiring the car, you might want to go back and read what he posted.
Here it is for you guys.

But the plan right now is to get a good set of drag radials and i'm gonna be putting some of the interior back in and will be making a few more passes
As far as retiring the car that won't happen I plan on building a high rev motor and going with a larger turbo in the near future 5 speed is always a possiblity but i'm really waiting on that TRE new gearset for the 6 speed which would be amazing. Until then!

Easy fellas i know Chris has yet to reach his goal and sure you can go mid 11's on a stock turbo evo w/ race gas/e85 and some boost so i can see why low 11's out of a big turbo set-up sounds a bit on the slower side but i'm sure like all of us he has his reasons for not being able to run the right trans/gearing to optimize the potential.......$$$.$$'s
I really don't know the extent of the weight removed from his Evo but i'd hardly call it a "fully gutted drag car" when only the pass/rear seats are removed along w/ some plastic interior pieces, carpet, and headliner :rolleyes2: I know this stuff doesn't weigh much as i have most of it out save for the headliner while i'm doing the bar in my car.
Like i've said before in the past once you attempt to go into the 10's and deeper the only logical tire to use is a DR or slick of some sort. It's been proven that you can run quick et's and fast mph's w/ stock advans, all seasons, snow tires, 18" radials/dr's etc but at what cost and how consistantly???
That's why i made the leap to the Willwood brakes up front and the QTP's......slicks would be the best imo.......but once again this bring up the debate of it being a "drag only car".
The saved weight to me is just icing on the 10sec cake!
That's why i think and made comment to Mike about trying to get a company to make a DR like the Hoosier Mike will be testing but in a size that could help out w/ having enough sidewall thickness and maybe enough pliability to even make them wrinkle slightly like the 15" versions of the MT DR's.
Hang in there Chris if you could go to the 5 speed w/ an evo 8 4th gear even w/ your current tires you can run good times but i bet you'd only be able to hit them when track conditions are optimal if not the 60's will be a bit erratic.
